- The Sushi community voted in favor (74% approval) of a Multichain Expansion Fund that would take 2% from the 5bps fee earned on non-Ethereum chains and L2s. The proceeds will be used to fund cross-chain expansion, operations and infrastructure. In a related topic, a signal vote was held to take 10% of fees and divert them to a DAO treasury in order to fund future growth and better position SushiDAO to withstand a bear market. With these proposals in mind, it’s clear that members of this community are thinking long-term.
- The Sushi community also signaled their support (99.59% approval) for incorporating Curve’s gauge weight voting system into Sushi. This would bring many benefits, including the long-term alignment of liquidity providers with protocol governance and a reduced token float via locking. However, current plans involve the addition of a new token, oSUSHI, which would further complicate Sushi’s token econ. Some members of the community have suggested combining oSUSHI and xSUSHI which could be a good middle ground.
- In an effort to incentivize the adoption of the Gnosis Protocol, GnosisDAO is hinting at the launch of a separate protocol token that can be used to spur the adoption of their MEV busting product, Cowswap.
- Certain community members claimed that the Curve team was arbitrarily punishing certain pools by lessening their rewards due to “double-dipping”. One community member went even further and accused the team of pool favoritism. To the credit of the Curve team, they listened to their community and put forward a vote to restore rewards to the MIM pool.
